Table Mountain Rancheria Tribal Police Department

The Table Mountain Rancheria Tribal Police Department serves as the primary law enforcement agency for the federally recognized Tribal Government, providing comprehensive protection to its Tribal Government, members, visitors, guests, and all Tribal properties. Established by the Tribal Government in 1997, the department enforces all Tribal, state, and federal laws applicable to Table Mountain Rancheria.

Our department collaborates closely with outside federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to provide seamless services to Table Mountain Rancheria’s residents, visitors, and employees. We are the largest Tribal Police Department in California, with a team of 25 sworn police officers, including one (1) Police Chief, two (2) Lieutenants, three (3) Sergeants, three (3) Corporals, fifteen (15) Police Officers, and one (1) Detective. Our sworn officers are supported by a professional administrative staff and Records/Dispatch Team that offers 24/7 services to the Tribal Community.

All sworn officers at Table Mountain Rancheria are federally sworn police officers within the Special Law Enforcement Commission (SLEC) guidelines, as outlined in Table Mountain Rancheria’s Deputation Agreement. This agreement, approved by Tribal Resolution No. 2007-11 on August 20, 2007, in conjunction with the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), grants our officers the same law enforcement authority as BIA Officers.

Our mission is to work closely with our community and other public safety agency partners to prevent crime and enhance policing services. Together, we strive to foster a cooperative relationship that yields positive outcomes for everyone involved.
